[Series 1] Cloud-based Web Security Best Practices and System Configuration Overview Workshop in Indonesia

A two-day introductory workshop on Cloud-based Web Security was held on 13-14 March, 2019 at BaliCamp, Tabanan-Bali, Indonesia; addressing:

  • Principles and best practices for cloud-based web security for Research and Education Network (REN) organisations and users
  • An introduction to the FIWARE Application Development platform for development of cloud-based network management and security dashboards and other services
  • An introduction to Cloud Enabled Security System (CESS) for managing organization-wide web and network policies and access controls
  • A discussion forum with invited stakeholders on web security issues

This workshop has been conducted as part of the Asi@Connect Distributed and Cloud-based Network Defense System for NRENs (DCNDS) Project funded by TEIN* Cooperation Center and the European Union to facilitate capacity building among NOC operators and network engineers, as well as security personnel to support the effective operation of Research and Education Networks in the Asian region.

Target Participants

Network and System operators and engineers, as well as cyber security staff from various organisations involved in Indonesia Research & Education Network (IDREN) and other public agencies. Participants are required to bring their own laptops for the Hands-on sessions.

Cost of Participation

There were no fees charged to participants for attending the workshop. However, participants had to make their own arrangements for travel and lodging if needed.

Accommodation

DCNDS provides accommodation for 4 days and 3 nights (Check-in March 12th, and check-out March 15th) during the event.
